Summary

As soon as Anne Shirley arrives at the snug white farmhouse called Green Gables, she is sure she wants to stay forever 。 。 。 but will the Cuthberts send her back to to the orphanage? Anne knows she's not what they expected—a skinny girl with fiery red hair and a temper to match。 If only she can convince them to let her stay, she'll try very hard not to keep rushing headlong into scrapes and blurting out the first thing that comes to her mind。 Anne is not like anyone else, the Cuthberts agree; she is special—a girl with an enormous imagination。 This orphan girl dreams of the day when she can call herself Anne of Green Gables。

it was decent but truly I love that the series was so welly reflecting it。

I watched the movies when I was a kid but had never read the book until now。 Such classic, clean literature。 Anne is such a lovable character and then they brought in Rachel McAdams to read it and it was an absolute delight! I loved listening to it so much that I listened to the second one。 (Sadly, Rachel McAdams does not read for that one。) I love coming of age stories and L。M。 Montgomery created one of the very best!

I wasn't going to expect such freshness and joy from this book: I'm glad I was mistaken! Anne carries the reader into the lovely scenario of Green Gables, with flowers and trees and their inhabitants (so many coloured images!)。 I love the evolution of some of them as well as Anne's growth。 In general, is such a pleasant book to read, I found it very cosy and welcoming。 I wasn't going to expect such freshness and joy from this book: I'm glad I was mistaken! This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 my favorite character is definitely Anne because she is so fun and imaginative。 She sometimes confuses me though。 One part that surprised me was when Anne had stolen Marilla's broach and then pretended that she had dropped it in the stream that confused me a lot。 Would I change the ending? Yes and no。 Yes because Mathew dies, and no because Anne falls in love with Gilbert Blythe。 my favorite character is definitely Anne because she is so fun and imaginative。 She sometimes confuses me though。 One part that surprised me was when Anne had stolen Marilla's broach and then pretended that she had dropped it in the stream that confused me a lot。 Would I change the ending? Read it in third grade and still remember most of it。 Will always love this book

As a person who very much identified with Anne at the beginning of the book, I tremendously enjoyed following her journey, until Montgomery took what I loved about her away from her。 I disliked that her character ultimately became so very moralized。

Rereading was like visiting with an old friend who I hadn't seen in years, but we start chatting immediately as if no time has passed。 Anne is a multi-faceted character who shows beauty can bloom no matter where it was planted。 Rereading was like visiting with an old friend who I hadn't seen in years, but we start chatting immediately as if no time has passed。 Anne is a multi-faceted character who shows beauty can bloom no matter where it was planted。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 ¡Ohhh es lo más espléndido que he leído!

Like everyone in Green Gables I fell in LOVE with Ann(with an E 😉)!!I have not heard the story of Anne in 20 years at least, so I really didn't know what to expect, but Anne did not disappoint。 She was the most true to herself of a character I have ever read。 I loved to see the relationship between Anne & the aunt grow it was the sweetest thing。 I wished Anne would have forgiven Gilbert earlier for they could have had such a nice friendship while growing up together 🥲。 Listened to the audiobook Like everyone in Green Gables I fell in LOVE with Ann(with an E 😉)!!I have not heard the story of Anne in 20 years at least, so I really didn't know what to expect, but Anne did not disappoint。 She was the most true to herself of a character I have ever read。 I loved to see the relationship between Anne & the aunt grow it was the sweetest thing。 I wished Anne would have forgiven Gilbert earlier for they could have had such a nice friendship while growing up together 🥲。 Listened to the audiobook and the voice acting was great。 Anne has inspired me to read more classics! 。。。more

I think it is particularly interesting the story, the setting and the main character, Anne, and I relate to her a lot。 I read it after watching the Netflix's adaption, and I was a little bit disappointed because the show has a lot of discussions and relevant topics (like LGBTQ people, racism and feminism), so I was expecting a little bit of it in the book, but it was totally my fault for that expectation。 The book itself is just the story of Anne, but even without all the matters from the Netfli I think it is particularly interesting the story, the setting and the main character, Anne, and I relate to her a lot。 I read it after watching the Netflix's adaption, and I was a little bit disappointed because the show has a lot of discussions and relevant topics (like LGBTQ people, racism and feminism), so I was expecting a little bit of it in the book, but it was totally my fault for that expectation。 The book itself is just the story of Anne, but even without all the matters from the Netflix's adaption, It still manages to be captivating and very interesting。 。。。more

It is an extreamly interesting book that is very engaging。 Anne has a wonderful mind that is always running on and on。 Some of the things she does makes me laugh but she is a very smart, enthusiastic and caring girl。

I love this book very much! It might be harder for youngsters to understand the old English but Anne Shirley is such a role model and can benefit children。 Children can also learn many lessons from this book。 A couple of lessons are: Love who you are, learn from your lessons, and just be you even if everyone else is against it。
