Summary

Three weeks。 Two sisters。 One car。 A True Story

Raina can’t wait to be a big sister。 But once Amara is born, things aren’t quite how she expected them to be。 Amara is cute, but she’s also a cranky, grouchy baby, and mostly prefers to play by herself。 Their relationship doesn’t improve much over the years, but when a baby brother enters the picture and later, when something doesn’t seem right between their parents, they realize they must figure out how to get along。 They are sisters, after all。

Raina uses her signature humor and charm in both present-day narrative and perfectly placed flashbacks to tell the story of her relationship with her sister, which unfolds during the course of a road trip from their home in San Francisco to a family reunion in Colorado。

Not my favorite one by her, but it is still very cute and wholesome。

This graphic novel follows the author's childhood experiences with her sister and in general her family and the hardships that they go through。 The family goes through a lot but it is awesome to see how they stay positive。This book flips between when times were hard and when the mom and kids are going on a road trip。 It is so relate-able, especially when they are in the car and getting sick and tired of each other。Overall a great read。 This graphic novel follows the author's childhood experiences with her sister and in general her family and the hardships that they go through。 The family goes through a lot but it is awesome to see how they stay positive。This book flips between when times were hard and when the mom and kids are going on a road trip。 It is so relate-able, especially when they are in the car and getting sick and tired of each other。Overall a great read。 。。。more

Sunt la a doua carte scrisă de Raina Telgemeier și constat ca îmi plac benzile ei foarte mult。 Recomand!

Another amazing addition to Telgemeier's own childhood-inspired Smile series。 Even though I have a younger brother rather than a younger sister like Raina, I could easily relate to all their squabbles, ha。 Wonderfully written and drawn, as always。 Another amazing addition to Telgemeier's own childhood-inspired Smile series。 Even though I have a younger brother rather than a younger sister like Raina, I could easily relate to all their squabbles, ha。 Wonderfully written and drawn, as always。 。。。more

This was really cute。 My little sister and I used to fight a lot, so I definitely related to this a lot, though it has been a while since those days。 I loved the touch with the snake! And Telgemeier's art was as beautiful and easy-to-read in as ever。 This was really cute。 My little sister and I used to fight a lot, so I definitely related to this a lot, though it has been a while since those days。 I loved the touch with the snake! This was a cute book。 I enjoyed it。 I would recommend this book。 It did touch on a subject and didn’t go into much detail about it and it would raise questions for some children。

This book is super funny, and very relatable! This book is a true story about two sisters on a loooooong road trip in their van。 There are so many funny parts to this book! I recommend this to people who have siblings and who want to read a nice funny book over the summer or on a loooooong road trip。

This is a graphic novel about two sisters Raina and Amara。 This is actually the second is a series and has them going on a road trip with mom and younger brother from California to Colorado for a family reunion。 In my six years as an elementary school librarian this book continues to have holds so I finally broke down and read it。 The teasing and annoyances of having a sister really shines。 The illustrations are clear and fun。 I also think that my students feel like they are reading a longer nov This is a graphic novel about two sisters Raina and Amara。 This is actually the second is a series and has them going on a road trip with mom and younger brother from California to Colorado for a family reunion。 In my six years as an elementary school librarian this book continues to have holds so I finally broke down and read it。 The teasing and annoyances of having a sister really shines。 The illustrations are clear and fun。 I also think that my students feel like they are reading a longer novel and yet it takes less than an hour。 The author also does the Babysitters Club graphic novels。 I will definetly read others by the author especially since I can pull them off my own library shelves。 。。。more

I read this book for the first time when I was probably in the fourth grade。 Wow, I still can remember all the details and sightings from that time。 I really did read the book maybe 15 times! I really enjoy the way this book was written with all the emotion, pictures, and dialogue。 I think the concept of writing a book from your teenage self perspective (usually a rough time in many peoples childhood) is very creative。 Despite the book taking place in the late 80's and 90's, it is still very rel I read this book for the first time when I was probably in the fourth grade。 Wow, I still can remember all the details and sightings from that time。 I really did read the book maybe 15 times! I definitely see myself and my siblings in this comic, it feels great to just get sucked into someone else's story and it actually felt like I was reading a story about my older sister's point of view。 The whole sibling relationship is relatable, and I have a heart-to-heart understanding of Amara; this book was always my top from when I was younger, and I would always reread it without getting bored :) I definitely see myself and my siblings in this comic, it feels great to just get sucked into someone else's story and it actually felt like I was reading a story about my older sister's point of view。 The whole sibling relationship is relatable, and I have a heart-to-heart understanding of Amara; this book was always my top from when I was younger, and I would always reread it without getting bored :) 。。。more

Sweet graphic novel

I think anyone who grew up with a sister in the late 80s/early 90s will relate to this one a lot。 I liked the parallel storylines meeting up at the end。 The illustrations are adorable, with clear character delineation。 Maybe I had a lot of nostalgia while reading this, hence 5 stars, but isn’t a part of reading how you relate to it personally?
