Inspiring a child to dream big is always an investment in the future。

When I look at youAnd you look at me,I wonder what wonderfulThings you will be。 When I look at youAnd you look at me,I wonder what wonderfulThings you will be。I know you will be kind and clever, and bold。And the bigger your heart,The more it will hold。And become anybody That you'd like to be。And then I'll look at youAnd you'll look at meAnd I'll love you,Whoever you've grown up to be"💛💕💕💛27。8。2022 。。。more

I read this book to my Children and they loved it! I’d never read it before and I love the message。

Open this book with some little people you love and dream a little dream。 What wonderful things are in the future? Whimsical and calming, colorful illustrations spark the imagination。 Little details like a tiny mouse band opposite a kid's band called "The Missing Teeth" will be noted over and over with delight。 With a variety of ages and ethnicities represented, this will be one you find coming off the shelf regularly。When I look at youAnd you look at me,I wonder what wonderfulThings you will be Open this book with some little people you love and dream a little dream。 What wonderful things are in the future? I loved this children’s book totally。 The illustrations are lovely and have pastel and baby-like colors that are nostalgic that I feel would be quite attractive to a child。 The text is rhythmic like a lullaby。 And there is a harmony to both the text and the illustrations together。 But what is most beautiful is the message of the book itself。 It instills a positive attitude in children towards life by first getting them to ponder their birth as a special occasion and emphasizing the uniqueness of I loved this children’s book totally。 The illustrations are lovely and have pastel and baby-like colors that are nostalgic that I feel would be quite attractive to a child。 The text is rhythmic like a lullaby。 And there is a harmony to both the text and the illustrations together。 But what is most beautiful is the message of the book itself。 It instills a positive attitude in children towards life by first getting them to ponder their birth as a special occasion and emphasizing the uniqueness of their individual selves and what they could bring about to the world while at the same time emphasizing a selfless attitude。 I read it as an adult interested in the craft of illustrating children’s books, but I got something rather precious from reading it myself。 As I got to think about how parents raise their children and have all sorts of anticipations for their futures and caring for them to grow older and prosper, I thought of divine providence on the other hand。 Though this idea is not presented at all in the book in any direct or indirect way, but I thought it’s nice to receive this sentiment from a children’s book。 This sort of positive message is what should always be anticipated from a children’s book, and I loved this book mostly for its message。 It’s very nostalgic like floating on a childhood cloud。 Great effort! I loved it and wish I could do something similar someday。 。。。more

I really loved the illustrations。 The text was hopeful, yet saying that, “you will be…” caring, bold, clever, and kind, for example, rings a little empty somehow。 Maybe it just doesn’t feel enough here without some specific guidance in the book somewhere with a description of how the author hopes parents use this as a starting point and gives some additionalExamples of how one can embody those qualities (beyond the illustration)。 Just because a parent reads “you will be” doesn’t make it happen, I really loved the illustrations。 The text was hopeful, yet saying that, “you will be…” caring, bold, clever, and kind, for example, rings a little empty somehow。 Maybe it just doesn’t feel enough here without some specific guidance in the book somewhere with a description of how the author hopes parents use this as a starting point and gives some additionalExamples of how one can embody those qualities (beyond the illustration)。 Just because a parent reads “you will be” doesn’t make it happen, and for some kids, it may actually feel a bit like pressure and if they aren’t these qualities, they may feel like it is their fault。 。。。more

This one is sweet。 Illustrations are really good。 It's about showing the pride parents take in their children despite of whatever they are turning out to。 (N) This one is sweet。 Illustrations are really good。 It's about showing the pride parents take in their children despite of whatever they are turning out to。 (N) 。。。more

Pretty, but kind of underwhelming for a NYTimes Bestseller。 This was more about a parent's wondering about their child than it is about a child's wonder for themselves, and I just didn't love that angle for some reason。 2。5 stars Pretty, but kind of underwhelming for a NYTimes Bestseller。 This was more about a parent's wondering about their child than it is about a child's wonder for themselves, and I just didn't love that angle for some reason。 2。5 stars 。。。more

I gave this to a neighbor who graduated this year。 I love the illustrations。。。and the reminder that there are great things ahead of us and that we can do so much good。

A simple message of a parent wondering about a child’s potential for the future。

Neil Pasricha

Most kid’s books have two names on the cover。 Writer! Illustrator! So I’m already impressed when I stumble on a great kid’s book with only one name on the front。 I can’t believe someone was talented enough to do both。 This is a beautifully poetic hymn to a child’s potential from the perspective of a loving parent。 I can read it over and over with my older son。

Emily LaVielle

This book would be a great book for parents to read to their kids, as this book teaches a great lesson between the love and support a parent can give to their child。 I think kids would learn to love this book and having their parents read it to them to show their unconditional love。 Overall a sweet book to read。

I can see what the author is trying to do, and the cover sure is promising。 But the rest of the book feels saccharine and insincere to me。 Like an adult trying super hard to convince kids that no matter the direction they take in life, they are worthy and lovable。 Which is nice and all, but I'm unmoved by platitudes like "And the bigger your heart, the more it will hold。"The characters are cute (and happily not all of them are white); but they mostly look bored and bland, and emotionally distant I can see what the author is trying to do, and the cover sure is promising。 But the rest of the book feels saccharine and insincere to me。 Like an adult trying super hard to convince kids that no matter the direction they take in life, they are worthy and lovable。 Which is nice and all, but I'm unmoved by platitudes like "And the bigger your heart, the more it will hold。"The characters are cute (and happily not all of them are white); but they mostly look bored and bland, and emotionally distant。 Some of the rhymes trip and stumble over their own feet。 Some writers (Chris Harris, Janee Trasler, and of course Dr。 Seuss) create magic with their rhymes。 Sadly, Emily Winfield Martin is not one of them, as you can tell from the unfortunate mess that is the following question: Will you stand up for goodBy saving the day?Or play a song only youKnow how to play? And just when I thought things couldn't get much less inspiring, the theatrical lift-the-flaps reveal ("And become anybody That you'd like to be") opens onto a line-up of kids in costumes, with such sour expressions that they might as well have a sign above their heads: WE ARE NOT AMUSED。 Talk about a let-down。 。。。more

The art in this was enough for me want this book。 The drawings are so cute and the colors calming and sweet。 The story is just as cute and sweet。

Realistic FictionK-5thI absolutely love the theme behind this book。 It really just highlights the love of parents towards their kids and the beautiful picture of them being eager to see what their child becomes。 I think in a classroom you could even create a rendition of the book from the teacher's perspective。 Realistic FictionK-5thI absolutely love the theme behind this book。 It really just highlights the love of parents towards their kids and the beautiful picture of them being eager to see what their child becomes。 I think in a classroom you could even create a rendition of the book from the teacher's perspective。 。。。more

Genre: FictionAge: 3-7I like how the story portrays how a parent feels about their child's development。 I feel like it's pretty common between the parent and child。Which in return is a positive thing because the child grows up knowing the they excite their parent/guardian。 Genre: FictionAge: 3-7I like how the story portrays how a parent feels about their child's development。 I feel like it's pretty common between the parent and child。Which in return is a positive thing because the child grows up knowing the they excite their parent/guardian。 。。。more

The artwork has a very old school nursery vibe to it。 It is a book of what ifs and what will you bes in future。 Possible parent/guardian's thought and hopes for young children/babies。 Why 3 stars? Some of the art could use a black outline to make the drawings pop。 I understand it is this way to make it feel softer but sometimes the colors don't look great side-by-side。 Not a book I would read to my child because I didn't feel any emotional connection to the words。 The artwork has a very old school nursery vibe to it。 It is a book of what ifs and what will you bes in future。 Possible parent/guardian's thought and hopes for young children/babies。 Why 3 stars? Some of the art could use a black outline to make the drawings pop。 I understand it is this way to make it feel softer but sometimes the colors don't look great side-by-side。 Not a book I would read to my child because I didn't feel any emotional connection to the words。 。。。more

"The Wonderful Things You Will Be" is a loving and sweet message of how a parent looks at and views their children。 There is humor and rhyme and some funny moments throughout the book。 This is a good story to read to children to remind them of how much their parents (or guardians) love them。 They know their children will do big and wonderful things in life, especially if their parents are speaking life and love over them。 The illustrations bring the book to life。 The book is very well illustrate "The Wonderful Things You Will Be" is a loving and sweet message of how a parent looks at and views their children。 There is humor and rhyme and some funny moments throughout the book。 This is a good story to read to children to remind them of how much their parents (or guardians) love them。 They know their children will do big and wonderful things in life, especially if their parents are speaking life and love over them。 The illustrations bring the book to life。 The book is very well illustrated and they just enhance the text even more。 。。。more

This story focuses on all the possibilities there are for when a child grows up and what they will be。 The summary of the book in the opening book cover flaps states, “This book is a celebration of possibilities, and the love parents feel for their children…whoever and whatever they may become!” The end page features all different races, ethnicities, and genders of infants and young toddlers and they are all wearing a variety of things and have different expressions, foreshadowing all the possib This story focuses on all the possibilities there are for when a child grows up and what they will be。 The summary of the book in the opening book cover flaps states, “This book is a celebration of possibilities, and the love parents feel for their children…whoever and whatever they may become!” The end page features all different races, ethnicities, and genders of infants and young toddlers and they are all wearing a variety of things and have different expressions, foreshadowing all the possibilities they can be。 The cover features a baby holding onto a bunch of balloons and flying into the sky。 The illustrations are appealing and artistic。 There is so much detail and inspiration in the pictures that add to the storytelling。 In the beginning of the book there is a section that states, “This book belongs to…” and it makes it more personalized and meaningful。 The author uses a poetry style of writing and each page turns shows different children and different things they could be, showing how diverse we all can be。 There is a page towards the end that opens into a big landscape page of all the children in different costumes。 This book is a great book for parents or caregivers to read to their children and to open the conversation of how a parent/caregiver will love their child no matter who they are or become。 。。。more

A love letter from a parent to their young child celebrating possibility。 This is a sweet book to gift to an expecting or new parent。
