I’ve been following the Passion Movement ever since I was in college。 When I discovered they had put together The Jesus Bible, I knew I had to check it out。 I was immediately drawn in by the cover。 It is a beautiful mint color with paint splashes。 That’s mostly what makes this known as The Artist Edition。This Bible is available in the ESV or NIV。 For this review, I’m focusing on the ESV translation。This Bible includes seven essays from Louie Giglio, Randy Alcorn, Max Lucado, John Piper, and Ravi I’ve been following the Passion Movement ever since I was in college。 When I discovered they had put together The Jesus Bible, I knew I had to check it out。 I was immediately drawn in by the cover。 It is a beautiful mint color with paint splashes。 That’s mostly what makes this known as The Artist Edition。This Bible is available in the ESV or NIV。 For this review, I’m focusing on the ESV translation。This Bible includes seven essays from Louie Giglio, Randy Alcorn, Max Lucado, John Piper, and Ravi Zacharias。 These are all trusted authors that I’m familiar with。 I was mostly exactly about the Ravi Zacharias articles, but that may partly be because he was the keynote speaker at my college graduation。 These stand out from the rest of the Bible because the font is quite large。Speaking of print, I liked being able to point out which parts of the Bible were the text and which was extra。 The only thing that I would change would be to make the Scriptures text just a little bit bigger。 This way it is more readable, but also doesn’t look funky against the bigger text。This is considered a study Bible, but I wouldn’t consider it one。 The commentary only appears for certain verses, rather than verse-by-verse like most study Bibles do。 The commentary avoids diving deep into theological topics, keeping everything surface level, but pointing towards how Jesus is the Messiah: He died on the cross and rose again three days。 It was also quite simple and easy to understand。 What I found the most intriguing was reading the Christrophanies。 Christrophanies is a physical or non-physical manifestation of Jesus Christ。 God had it all the pieces of the story planned long before the He created the universe。 You’ll find references that talk about Jesus Christ in books of the Old Testament such as Isaiah, Genesis, and many more。Overall, I would highly recommend this Bible。 This would be great and non-invasive for the new believer or a great tool for the mature Christian to learn more。Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from BibleGateway Blogger Grid for my honest review, which I have given。 I was not required to write a positive review and have not been compensated for it in any way。 All opinions expressed are my own。 。。。more

There are several features I look for when choosing a Bible, and this version, its lay-flat design and soft cover are some of them。 The Jesus Bible Artist Edition has a unique look and feel—the leathersoft is very supple。 The pages also have gold-lined edges。 As an artistic and poetic soul, this artsy cover appeals to me。 It is colorful, pretty, stitched well, has a nice texture, and lays flat with ease。I also love the single-column format。 It makes it easier for me to keep my place and the prov There are several features I look for when choosing a Bible, and this version, its lay-flat design and soft cover are some of them。 The Jesus Bible Artist Edition has a unique look and feel—the leathersoft is very supple。 The pages also have gold-lined edges。 As an artistic and poetic soul, this artsy cover appeals to me。 It is colorful, pretty, stitched well, has a nice texture, and lays flat with ease。I also love the single-column format。 It makes it easier for me to keep my place and the provided articles are fashioned in the margin rather than on the bottom of the page with the references。 I think this uses the space more efficiently allowing more scripture per page。 There is also plenty of margin space for journaling or note-taking。Another unique feature, which I’ve only seen in one other Bible, the NIV Life Application Study Bible I reviewed this past October, is that it has two (yes, two!) attached place ribbons—silver and gold。 A tiny perk, but so handy! He has made everything beautiful in its time… Ecclesiastes 3:11 This artist edition makes a lovely gift。 It comes in a sturdy box that folds open。Source: I received a complimentary copy of this Bible as a member of the Bible Gateway Blogger Grid。 Opinions expressed are completely my own。 。。。more
