Summary

There's not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick。

Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe。 She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases--a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old。

It doesn't help that Stella has Asperger's and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish。 Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice--with a professional。 Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan。 The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can't afford to turn down Stella's offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan--from foreplay to more-than-missionary position。。。

Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he's making her feel。 Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense。 And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic。。。

This was hard to rate。 It got four stars because of how enjoyable the storyline and characters were。 However, it attempts to tackle somewhat larger issues than a simple romance, without giving them due diligence。 The main character is autistic and has suffered what is essentially r*** from her previous sexual partners, although not fully realizing。 These elements are only used as material to bring her and her partner closer together, which doesn't seem fair to the topic or the character。 This was hard to rate。 It got four stars because of how enjoyable the storyline and characters were。 However, it attempts to tackle somewhat larger issues than a simple romance, without giving them due diligence。 The main character is autistic and has suffered what is essentially r*** from her previous sexual partners, although not fully realizing。 These elements are only used as material to bring her and her partner closer together, which doesn't seem fair to the topic or the character。 。。。more

This book just read like a pretty average fanfiction for me。 At least it was a super quick read and I could get through it quite quickly。 I wish we could give out half stars because it’s probably more of a 2。5 star read than a 3。

The author is autistic as well!I found the relationship between Michael and Stella endearing - he is supportive and gentle while still being a protector。 He listens to her and allows her to be herself around him。 No hero complex here。 My heart may have melted as most women hope to find themselves someone like Michael! 。。。more

Oh my gahhh! Ok。 Soooo, at first, I wasn’t loving this book。 The shit Michael was saying during foreplay annoyed me a little。 I thought It was cheesy at times and frankly, a little awkward。 But damn! I’m so glad I stuck with it。 The ending had me tearing up and changed my whole opinion。 And I have to mention, I really loved both Stella and Michael。

。。。more

My personal preference is that I didn't care for the sex scene dialogue。 Some people may love it, but I thought it was too cheesy。 To each his/her own。 I didn't care for the bits of jealousy and possessiveness。 I guess at this point, I notice it more often and skim read those parts。 I do find myself relating to the main character at parts。 I honestly don't want to type everything, so I should just go look at other two star reviews to remind myself the other issues I had with this book, though I My personal preference is that I didn't care for the sex scene dialogue。 Some people may love it, but I thought it was too cheesy。 To each his/her own。 I didn't care for the bits of jealousy and possessiveness。 I guess at this point, I notice it more often and skim read those parts。 I do find myself relating to the main character at parts。 I honestly don't want to type everything, so I should just go look at other two star reviews to remind myself the other issues I had with this book, though I don't tend to love romance books, nor had I seen the movie Pretty Woman when I opened this book with an open mind。 。。。more

This was an adorable romance, not too over the top, but delightful and cute。 I love it when characters model consent appropriately and treat each other as human beings who get to have boundaries。 I read this in one fun sitting。

RATING: 4Am I happy that this book exists? Yes, for sure!I won’t be extreme and say that I have never read a romance with so much representation, BUT this one is definitely on top 3。 All of the characters are amazing, extremely well written, you care for them and you know their mistakes are mistakes that are okay to be made。 I just can’t <3I have seen many readers disappointed by the fact that Stella‘s autism is treated in a superficial way, and while I do agree, I think that the author’s will w RATING: 4Am I happy that this book exists? The Author’s Note at the end clarifies it and literally makes me cry, because I am so happy she did so! I do know that we are in a period where books about autism and with autistic characters are rare to be found, and every single one of them should try to bring consciousness, but I still think Helen has done a great job and completed the task! I’m not part of Helen’s community, but if she feels represented, that’s already a long step taken forward!I loved reading from Stella’s perspective and getting to know her point of view, even if it was just a glimpse。 I know there are many more layers to be explored, and I am willing to discover them, especially after all reading that Helen herself had no clue that she is autistic and it made me wonder how many people around me don’t know that! (I personally have hEDS, and while I know it doesn’t compare to autism, because it is a physical condition, it’s also a very misdiagnosed and undiagnosed condition, so I felt really empathetic by that)Literally, the only thing that made my grade go a little bit down - AND IT SHOULDN’T BE TAKEN AS A REASON TO NOT READ THIS BOOK! - was the fact that I felt like the author had many opportunities to solve situations without the typical clichés while also discussing a little bit more about the autistic perspective (in a not-negative way for Stella)Restraining myself from giving spoilers, because I think this review needs to be open, for example the ending was written based off of such typical situations that happen, that the last 15% were really repetitive and they were an AMAZING place to discuss more about the autistic perspective and point of view - even if the objective was to normalize it, it felt off here。PLEASE READ THIS BOOK, IT IS VERY IMPORTANT! AND IT WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY! 。。。more
